ahhh great news that a venue has finally been announced, (this is the official venue is it?)
Will you guys be setting up something more "Official" in way of a website for the Euro`s?

Will this be a good championship? how will fishing be? what can one expect to catch at the time of year when the Euro´s are on?
...and finally...Is Polish beer good? ;-)

It's nearly sure that the Euro will be on Ulga canal in Opole. 95%
We haven't got official announcement, but we know that our angling organization (called PZW) decided to organize the championship in Opole. It will be officially announced soon.
Ulga canal is 35-40 meters wide. Avarage depth is about 1,5-4 meters. Bottom is flat, thick and sandy. Bank is straight, covered with grass.
You can espect mainly roaches and breams (sometimes really big - max 3 kg), you can also catch ides, bleaks and perches
The main method is 13m long pole, but some anglers catch fish on more distances: 7, 9, 11. They jump between 2-3 swims, and have got fish for all 3 hours, without brakes. But the main method is the full long pole.
The venue usually flows slowly, but it is regulated with locks, and it can accelerate. You have to prepare yourself for every situation, and it's a good idea to take rigs from 0,5 to 15 gram. The lock can be move during the champioschip, so that the flow can change at every moment! Always prepare big rig on one of your top kits, just in case...
The winners usualy catch roaches and breams, but sometimes or in some places its hard to catch these fish. Then you have to rescue yourself with perches and bleaks near the bank, over the stones on a bottom.

You have to know that we hove some commercial championchips in Poland. You can take part in it. Two of them will be in Ulga Canal in Opole.

The biggest championship in this place in 2011 is Polish Gran Prix. Very big event for about 120-150 competitors. It will take place on 7-8 may 2011. There will be all our top anglers. You can come and spy them ;)

Polish beer? Its one of the best! Better are only polish girls ;) We have got some classic lager or dark beer, but try some untypical kinds: non pasterized, from wheat etc.

We are hoping to meet up with Daniel on Sunday at the "Stipper-Messe" in Bremen, to further discuss the Euro´s and other matters.
We are hoping to participate in one of the above mentioned events in May, and to fish the venue for a further few days to get an idea of the venue.

With about 3 months to the competition, we are still missing the official invitation :(

I hope it is coming soon, or else it will be increasingly difficult to plan accomodation, bait, etc.

We are however looking forward to fishing in Poland again, it was a pleasure last time :)

On June 10, 2011 on Canal Ulga was conducted "trial, " half of fishing nets to see what fish are in the fishery.
